The cholesterol lowering Diet Overview

  • Reduce your risk of heart disease.
  • Follow a healthy diet.
  • Eliminate bad fats and increase good fats.
  • Lower bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol level.
  • Lose weight.

How The Cholesterol Lowering Diet Plan Works

The goal of the Cholesterol Lowering Dietis simple.  It will lower your levels of bad cholesterol (LDLs) and increase your levels of good cholesterol (HDLs).

But what exactly is cholesterol?  Cholesterol is a soft, waxy substance found among fats in our bloodstream and in cells throughout our body.  Cholesterol is an important part of a healthy body because it is used to form cell membranes and some hormones.  A certain amount of cholesterol is good, however a too high level of cholesterol is a major risk factor for heart disease.  So if your cholesterol is too high, you need to go on a Low Cholesterol Diet.

Good cholesterol will help reduce bad cholesterol.  So the idea is to eat foods that contain a lot of good cholesterol and eliminate foods that contain bad cholesterol.

Cholesterol Lowering Foods: Soy Proteins, Nuts, Oats, Barley, Fruits, Vegetables, Flaxseed, Olive Oil, Fish

Cholesterol Increasing Foods: Liver and other organ meats, Egg Yolks, Full-Fat Dairy Products, High Fat Processed Meats, Fried Foods
